Funding will replace badly worn goals at Catto Park and add solar panels to the pavilion roof to reduce running costs and support long-term sustainability.
"As one of the remaining 11 a side football pitches in the south side of Aberdeen- Cove Thistle continue to improve the facilities at Catto Park in Cove for multiple football teams and community groups to use in Cove.
Catto Park has been used by a variety of football teams including hosting end of season cup finals. For over 25 years the club has used the same set of goals .This has led to naturally wear and tear and the opportunity to replace them with a sustainable product that will benefit football games to continue at Catto Park for years to come.
In addition with increased usage of the football pitch comes higher costs for heating and electricity to facilitate teams within our pavilion - therefore we have decided to put solar panels on the dressing room roof to promote not only sustainability but to reduce costs to ensure we can continue to promote a safe place for footballers to store belongings and have a hot shower after games."
