The Community & Coast Fund is open for applications from community groups and organisations in Torry and Cove! You could secure up to £10,000 to turn your project idea into reality.
This year, we’re especially interested in projects that:
- Increase safety in the community
- Reduce social isolation
- Improve mental health and wellbeing
- Create opportunities for local engagement
All projects must connect with at least one of the 6 Pillars of the Community & Coast Fund
- Level 1: Up to £3,000 (for groups with income less than £50,000, and unconstituted groups working in partnership).
- Level 2: Up to £10,000.
Funding is for capital projects, such as:
- Upgrading community facilities
- Purchasing sports or play equipment
- Creating greener, biodiverse environments
- Preserving and celebrating local heritage

7th November - Fund closes for applications.
17th November - PB Vote opens
28th November - PB vote closes
5th December - PB voting results announced to applicants and grant letters issued to successful applicants.

ACVO is managing the fund on behalf of the Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) to ensure it benefits the Torry and Cove communities. ACVO has a strong track record in fund management, making them well-placed to oversee the distribution of grants and empower local residents to shape how spending reflects local priorities.
Level 1 Applications can be received for grants of up to £3,000. Applicants for level 1 funding must have an income no greater than £50,000.
Level 2 Applications can be received for grants from £3,001 - £10,000. Unconstituted groups can apply only for level 1, but they must be working in partnership with a constituted group/organisation and use that group/organisation’s bank account for managing the grant.
No you cannot apply. Applicants must be based in or deliver services in Torry or Cove.
You can apply for any staff costs involved in the implementation/installation of the project, but no ongoing costs. If you do apply for staff costs, you will need to demonstrate how these are allocated.
ETZ Ltd and ACVO will publicise grants that have been made to awardees on their respective websites, through their social media, and newsletter publications. Any such publicity will usually be limited to the organisation name, the amount awarded, a summary of the project provided in the application form and the intended outcomes of the project.
Applications can be accepted from a range of community, voluntary, and third sector ‘not for profit’ organisations, associations, groups and clubs or consortiums/partnerships who have a strong community focus for their activities. (If your organisation is managed through a legal structure that is not listed here, please get in touch to discuss eligibility.)
Yes, you can apply! Smaller community groups can apply for up to £3000, but you will need access to a bank account. If you do not have a bank account, you will need to partner with an organisation who does and can manage the funds for you.
Capital items are things which have a useful life of more than one year, will lessen in value over time and are not to be sold as inventory. For instance, a printing press would be considered capital expenditure, but the books printed would not as they would be sold/distributed. To confirm whether the items you are applying for are considered capital items, please get in touch.
Yes, you can! You will need to partner with an organisation who has an account to manage the funds for you.
