Brimmond Court Residents Association – Communal Kitchen Refurbishment

Residents at Brimmond Court in Torry recently celebrated the completion of a refurbished communal kitchen, made possible through a £10,000 grant from the Community & Coast Fund. The project was developed and delivered by the Brimmond Court Residents Association to improve the quality and usability of the shared facilities within the building.

The funding supported a complete transformation of the kitchen space. Outdated fittings were replaced with a modern, practical design that includes new appliances, improved storage, and a safer, more accessible layout. These upgrades have created a facility that is both easier to maintain and more suitable for a wide range of activities.

Since its refurbishment, the kitchen has quickly become a central feature of community life at Brimmond Court. It is being used for regular coffee mornings, shared meals, and informal gatherings, as well as providing a base for residents to plan additional activities in the future. By upgrading the space, the Residents Association has been able to offer more opportunities for neighbours to meet and make use of facilities that are fit for purpose.

Isabelle Corbett, Secretary of Brimmond Court Residents Association, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the refurbishment. The new kitchen has transformed how we use the space, and has really lifted the spirits of the residents here at Brimmond Court.”
