Funding will support the construction of the Tree of Hope - a semi-permanent timber structure made from recycled utility poles and stainless-steel plates, built in collaboration with community partners and schools.
“Our project, the Tree of Hope, is to create a lasting symbolic "tree" as an alternative to the traditional Christmas Trees of previous years. It will be a semi-permanent timber structure, using large recycled utility poles and held together with stainless steel plates.
It is being led by Cove and Altens Community Council and will involve a wide range of our local population including the local Love Citadel Church, the two local primary schools, young people via uniformed organisations and adults/older people through community groups as well as our local Men’s Shed group.”
